Electrical
Electrical installation, distribution, inspection, compliance certification and advanced metering for residential, commercial and industrial facilities.
Safe, reliable power distribution — and the certificate to prove it.

PLATE 03 · DISTRIBUTION
The problem
Electrical work is the one trade where a shortcut stays invisible until it is expensive. An undersized cable, a badly torqued termination or a DB board nobody has opened in a decade will run fine for years and then take out a production line. Powerline started in electrical work fourteen years ago, and it remains the backbone of everything else we install.
What we do
Electrical: the scope in detail.
01
Installation and distribution
New installations, distribution board builds and upgrades, reticulation, sub-mains, lighting and power layouts — installed to specification and to SANS.
02
Inspection and certification
Testing, verification and issue of the Certificate of Compliance, including remedial work where an existing installation does not pass.
03
Advanced metering
Prepaid and smart metering, sub-metering and monitoring so consumption is measured accurately and recovered fairly.
04
Fault finding and repair
Systematic fault diagnosis on live installations, backed by thermographic scanning where the fault is intermittent or hidden.
What you receive
Not a promise. A document.
- Installed and tested electrical installation
- Certificate of Compliance to SANS 10142-1
- As-built distribution board schedule and circuit labelling
- Metering configuration and commissioning record
- Test results — earth continuity, insulation resistance, earth leakage, polarity
Standards we work to
- SANS 10142-1 — the wiring code for low-voltage installations
- Occupational Health and Safety Act — Electrical Installation Regulations
- SANS 10400-O and -P where installations affect building regulations
- Municipal and local authority supply requirements
Typical timeline
Fault finding and small works are usually same-week. Distribution board upgrades and new installations are programmed against your operational windows — after hours and weekend work included where a shutdown is not an option.
